Alex Chen was licensed as an attorney in 2009. Coming out of law school, he told himself that he did not want to practice either criminal law or insurance law. His first job, naturally, was working for a national insurance company for their bail bonds department.
After broadening his horizons for several years, he transitioned to trusts and estates law in 2014, and has focused his practice on conservatorships, trust administrations, probates, estate planning, and fiduciary representation since that time.
As an attorney, Alex strives to build towards solutions rather than to tear others down. He is a direct communicator who provides insight into his client’s issues and advises them on their best ways to reach a resolution.
Alex is a proud UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) and Loyola Law School alum. He was on the board of the East Bay Trusts and Estates Lawyers for 6 years and served as the Secretary and Treasurer for several of those years. He also is an active member of the Alameda County and Contra Costa County Bar Associations, and the Professional Fiduciary Association of California. He has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers every year from 2020 through 2024, and was recognized as a Super Lawyer in 2025.
He is an active member at his church and enjoys hiking in national parks with his 2 year old child and wife. He also enjoys playing volleyball. He is conversational in Mandarin.
